Scholarships

The AlohaCare Foundation supports AlohaCare members or their family members who want to pursue careers in healthcare or social services with educational scholarships. Scholarship winners could get up to $10,000 to help pay for school costs like tuition, books, supplies, certification, testing fees, and course fees.

Preparing to Apply

Before you get started:

Mandatory Forms and Paperwork

  1. Application
  2. A letter or form from your educational institution that says you are enrolled. Examples: enrollment verification or certification from your educational program or institution.
  3. Signed and completed Confidentiality Waiver, Essay Release and Statement of Accuracy form (included in application packet)
  4. Optional: 2 Letters of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, coach, or other person who is not related to you. These letters can be sent by email or mail directly to AlohaCare by the person who writes the letter.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be a current member or a family member of a current AlohaCare member
  • Family member includes parents, guardians, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
  • Applicant must show that they are pursuing a career in healthcare or social services. Examples: mental health counselor, nurse, pharmacy technician, physician’s assistant, community health worker and social worker
  • Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited university, college, technical or vocational school or certificate program
  • Enrollment verification is required with application submission

Application Process

STEP 1: Submit Form

Applicant submits completed application online, via email or mail.

STEP 2: Application Review

Application is reviewed for completeness.

STEP 3: Follow Up

The AlohaCare Foundation may ask for more information.

STEP 4: Decision Notice

The AlohaCare Foundation will send a written note via email of the final decision.

STEP 5: Scholarship Presentation

Winners are invited to take a photo and receive award.
